Types of Tectum Roof Decks
Tectum roof deck panels are ideal for a wide range of applications where acoustics are a key consideration. These panels are easy to work with, install, repair, and replace, in addition to being highly sound-absorbent and abuse-resistant, and they are available in a range of types and configurations.
Tectum I
Tectum I is compatible with a range of insulation and roofing materials, offers premium sound absorption, and provides a thermal barrier for field-applied foam plastics. These panels are available in a variety of sizes within three different configurations: plank, long-span plank, and tile. Each configuration offers multiple benefits and structural features, is suitable for low-slope applications, and is a cost-effective choice for Tectum projects.

Tectum I Configuration Features
Tectum I Plank

Tectum I Plank panels are identified by their tongue-and-groove long edges and square-cut ends.
These structural roof deck panels are manufactured in standard widths of 31 inches.
Tectum I Long Span (LS) Plank

Tectum I Long Span Plank is similar to standard Tectum I Plank but includes a cold-rolled steel channel inserted into the tongue-and-groove profile to increase structural spanning capacity.
The LS panels are machined slightly differently along the edges to accommodate this steel reinforcement.
The steel channel will be the primary way to differentiate the Tectum I Plank from the Tectum I Long Span Plank.
These structural roof deck panels are manufactured in standard widths of 31 inches.
Tectum I Tile

Tectum I Tile is typically used in bulb-tee roof deck systems.
These panels are distinguished by their rabbeted edges, which allow the tile to seat correctly on the bulb tees, with grout applied in the joint to lock the system in place.
There is an option for tongue-and-groove ends (on the narrow ends) while maintaining rabbeted long edges.
Tectum I Tile panels are available in standard widths of 31.5” and 32.5”. Custom panel widths are available and require a longer lead time.
